The horse that Kirriam was riding shied nervously beneath her as the Drow surrounded her, and she couldn't agree more. She'd realized just a moment too late how foolish she was being by chasing after her brother alone, but now there was nothing she could do. Her escape options were severly limited, especially considering the crossbows aimed directly at her. Somehow, she knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that these mercenaries were excellent archers.
Why did I get myself into this? This 'Skull' is being pleasant enough, but if I make one wrong move, I know they'll kill me, or worse... What have I gotten myself into?
Kirriam realized after a moment that what she had already done, no matter how rash and foolish, was not nearly as vital as whatever her next move should be. She could only think of one thing to do, the one thing that had gotten her as far as it had in her young life: Show no fear whatsoever, despite her obvious disadvantage in this situation. She would only let them see that she was perfectly confident and unafraid, even surrounded as she was.
"I am Lady Kirriam of Yarfell," she answered, drawing herself up and patting her nervous horse to soothe it. "I am searching for my brother, Lord Tolan, the High Councillor. He rode off into your camp without a royal escort, and I am here to assure that he is well and that nothing has happened to him. Have you seen him?"
