    Re: Delivering the Royal Commission

Kirriam's jaw dropped lower and lower with every word that Skull said to her. Finally, when he offered her the choice of coming along peacefully, or getting herself killed, she could remain silent no longer.

"You didn't listen to a word I said!" she exclaimed incredulously. "Ooooooh! You men!" she fumed. "It's a good thing for you that your negotiators weren't treated this same way when they entered Yarfell! And did you ever consider that perhaps your Captain and I were never formally introduced in Yarfell? He might have seen me at the negotiations, but my brother is the only one who will recognize me, and you steadfastly refuse to take me to him! Do you really want to hold me here as a prisoner and risk the alliance with Yarfell that your Captain has worked so hard to forge? Do you?! Do you really wish to consider me a prisoner of war and destroy your chances for glory fighting Venger, not to mention the supplies and remaining half of your pay? That should make your Captain very angry, I would think!"

Though she knew she had some valid points, underneath the bluster Kirriam also had a healthy dose of common sense. There were several crossbows still pointed directly at her, and she knew enough to realize that her options were severely limited. If she surrendered, at least she would be alive, and she felt she stood a fairly good chance of the Captain releasing her. But she would only surrender on her terms, no one else's.

"But very well, then" she finally agreed with a huff and an air of supreme dignity, letting Skull take the reins of her horse. She was taking a huge chance with this bluff, but in no way was she about to let the Drow see how frightened she actually was. "I will go with you to your camp, and you may provide me an escort if you feel it is necessary. I shall wait for your Captain to finish his meeting with my brother. Under no circumstances will you, or any others of your company, call me a 'prisoner of war,' as your men and the Kingdom of Yarfell have an alliance and are clearly not at war. Is this agreed?"
