Kirriam had exactly one nerve left, and Skull was definitely getting on it. "I think you know better than that," she challenged. "I think you know it's not in your best interests to treat a lady of the court like that. I think you're just trying to frighten me." Of course, Kirriam had to admit to herself that he was doing a pretty good job of just that, but she knew her only real chance was to keep her wits about her. "But I suppose picking on a helpless woman is the best way you can show your big, tough mercenary friends what a man you are!"
Pitching her voice lower, she muttered something that still was quite clear, "Boors!"
