"Brave words, coming from a woman who's about to be lashed to a tree like a saddle to a mare!" replied Skull coldly without raising his voice, "But you are absolutely right, my lady. You ARE too much for me to handle. After all, even I would have trouble bringing down a wild boar such as you single-handedly! That's why I have back up, right guys?"

"Wild boar?!" Kirriam demanded in mock indignation as the other Drow laughed hilariously. She was actually quite relieved to hear the sound of their laughter, glad to know that the Drow were amused. It made the whole situation seem far less threatening. "Will you kindly get it right! I am a wild sow, not a wild boar!" Shaking her head in feigned surprise, she looked with wide-eyed innocence at another of the Drow, who held his crossbow at the ready lest she try to escape. "He can tell the difference, can he not?" she asked, gesturing at Skull.

In all honesty, Kirriam was shocked at the things that were coming out of her mouth. She'd always been a feisty young woman, but this sudden bravado had caught her by surprise. If anyone asked her, even yesterday, what would have happen if she was being taken prisoner in a camp of Drow mercenaries, she would have been forced to admit that she thought she would have been crying and begging for her life.

Of course, she was still quite afraid. But strangely enough, this was turning out to be rather amusing, in its own weird way.
