    Re: Walking Towards Macula

Cole regarded the Berserker with a peeved expression as she first called out to him. It was not the first time he’d been referred to by the nickname she used. In fact, the Mentalist bore more than a passing resemblance for the character’s alter ego, something that, to his dismay, did not go unnoticed to those who would taunt him with it back on Earth.

Still, unsure of what Kryschenn really meant by the remark, he let it slide, and continued on his way with the Berserker catching up to him. He was planning on meeting up with Kayla, Trunks, and the others at the base of the mountain, near the clearing. From there he and Kryschenn would take a pair of the horses and return to Macula. If Zakiyah was free, and if he could find her, Cole planned on asking for her help in a matter that he thought was worth exploring. However it was then that Kryschenn began her next round of question-and-answer. He stopped dead in his tracks as the question she posed shot right through him. Her reasoning was sound and it was not as though he could not perform such a deed. However, he had his reasons not to use his weapon, reasons he felt were better to keep secret than share with any of the others. Cole believed they had more than enough problems burdening them already without adding one of his own.

Let’s see. I can lie to her or… not lie. Hmm. Cole paused, wondered in what manner he would bend the truth. It was then that he realized that he knew how well he was actually faring, as far as engaging in the use of his powers, in the wake of her earlier attack. Kryschenn on the other hand, knew nothing of his actual condition, other than what she could see.

"You see Kryschenn,” he began as he offered his take on the situation, “your sword did drain plenty of energy out of me, which hurt a lot by the way. Being relatively new to this whole ‘Mentalist’-thing, I’m not sure how long I could keep my powers up if I try using them so soon. I just want to make sure I’m fit enough to use it before I try anything with it. I didn’t want to risk using the Stone while getting down earlier, only to have it ‘cut-out’ abruptly and have both of us plummet to our death or something just because I wasn’t physically and mentally up to it!” He then looked to the Highlander with wry smile before offering what he hoped would be the final statement on the matter. “If it happened, we would be dead, and that would be bad."
