Cole thought about how best to answer this next little point the Berserker brought up. It was perhaps not the brightest idea to try descending the rock face without using the Stone for such an emergency. However, he came through that predicament unharmed and without the aid of his weapon. “Sorry about that. I didn’t really have the time to grab it while falling,” Cole replied with a hint of playful sarcasm to the question posed to him by the Highlander. “Besides, we seemed to have been making good enough progress heading down the mountain without using the Stone,” he added as they continued their journey on foot. “And furthermore, just because I have such a versatile weapon it doesn’t mean I have to, or need to, use it all the time. Although, I have to admit it does come in pretty handy now and then.”
“I didn’t mean to scare you back there when I fell, its not like I was trying to do that on purpose. And speaking of safety nets, it seems I did have one, ” he smiled with a nudge to the Berserker. “Thanks again for catching me back there, Krys. I’ll remember to use the weapon in such an emergency next time. But as far as I’m concerned, when all is said and done, I’m still alive, you’re still alive, and that incident is now in the past. End of story.” Cole hoped that this would be the last time Kryschenn would attempt her seemingly innocent questioning.
