"What is it about the matter being more than it seemed, Dungeon Master?" Presto asked. Eventually, DM got around to explaining things."This matter is more than it seems, Magician, but everything must be explained in both its proper place and context," said Dungeonmaster serenly.
Waving his right hand through the air as if he was brushing something aside, a white light encircled Meyaatha and all of the members of the Catacombs group and they disappeared from the view of the Wood Elves surrounding them!
However, they reappeared in a blinding flash in the middle of huge lodge at the foot of a dias! Atop the dias stood a tall, regal Wood Elf wearing dark leather armor, a runesword in an intricately woven scabbard, and a war helm adorned with the antlers of a great deer! In front of this figure, stood another elf of lesser stature who appeared to be helping the first one put his armor on!
"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!?!" roared the regal figure, looking down on the Catacombs group. "WHO DARES TRESPASS UPON THE COURT OF KING ARYN DARKBROOK, LORD OF THE ELVEN NATION OF MACUL!?!"
As a group of Wood Elves burst into the lodge and surrounded the Catacombs Group, Dungeonmaster quietly stepped forward and said, "I dare, King Darkbrook! Not so much for my benefit, but for those of my pupils who could have been ill-served by your followers had I not intervened."
King Darkbrook narrowed his eyes at the little man and growled in a low tone of voice, "Dungeonmaster, you come when you're not asked, and heed me not when I call you! Explain yourself!"
"I don't have to, King Darkbrook, my young associates shall do it for me," Turning to face the Catacombs Group, Dungeonmaster said, "My dear children, you must realize that everything that has happened, is happening, and that is about to happen is occuring for a reason! Think of the chain of events since your arrival in the Realm as water flowing down a riverbed--with each event flowing into the next! There is a reason why you rescued Meyaatha Delstine! There is a reason why you are here without your weapons! And there is a reason why I must leave you now! But know this, as long as you follow the natural flow of events as water flowing through a riverbed, then you may find the answers to the questions that you seek."
And with that, Dungeonmaster disappeared, leaving everyone typically guessing the nature of his cryptic riddles.
King Darkbrook was the first to speak, "So, Dungeonmaster said that you would explain what's going on! Well, start explaining!"
