After listening to Cassandra's explanation, King Darkbrook softened a little saying, "You must forgive my people for their overzealousness in receiving you and your friends! While I am grateful that you have returned my beloved daughter to me; you are still trespassers in these woods and we live in dangerous times!"Removing his war helm, the king added, "Moreso than that, we are surrounded on all sides by our enemies! To the north of us, lay the recalcitrant Swan Mays who may be in league with Venger! To the east, there's an Orc army marching in great numbers! And to the south of us, the Yarfellians are massing an army of their own in the town of Macul--which could be the staging base for a push into our territory! And I haven't even begun to talk about the reports that my scouts have been providing me over the last couple of days!
Sitting down on the huge wooden throne behind him, King Darkbrook continued, "We've heard tales that there was an assasination attempt on the Princess's life, that a rebellion had broken out in the streets of Yarfell, and that the Kingdom has now allied itself with a Drow army that waits outside the city's very gates! More than anything else, the Drow, the Orcs and the Yarfellians in Macula concern me greatly! And as you might expect, my people are very unsettled by these recent developments as well!"
Narrowing his eyes a little, the Wood Elven king added, "Still, have you found the piece of the Staff of Yarfell? And if you have, what do you plan to do with it! Return it to the Yarfellians or keep it for yourselves?"
