She did save his life, sort of. Due to her intervention in that case, Cole would never know if his could been saved by his own actions through grabbing the ledge, landing against the rock face and sliding to a lower outcropping or the use of the Stone. He wondered if he owed it to her to tell her right there and then. That moment of indecision was a fleeting one, though. The loose loops of leather he felt dangling from his right hand where a once tightly woven bandage covering the mark he hoped to hide were enough to help reaffirm his feelings on that subject where it concerned Kryschenn. He didn’t like keeping secrets from people, but he believed that the fewer people who knew of his dilemma the better. Up until now, he was fortunate enough to keep his problem from the attention of the rest. However, Kryschenn’s zealousness in uncovering the mark, despite her agreement to disregard the matter, shot down his hopes of keeping it hidden indefinitely. “I don’t think you really trust me all that much, Kryschenn,” he stated flatly. “If you did then why couldn’t you just respect my appeals to simply not bother with this?" he asked indicating pointing to the bandage with his left hand. "I don’t think you really have any trust in my abilities to handle this, do you? I know I may be inexperienced with the Realm, being here only three days and all, but I have been doing my part to help out regardless. Fortunately, the one who will be helping me is much more knowledgeable of the world than I am and even knows what will be required to deal with my problem. Permanently.” “But you want me to trust you? Now?” he said with a little disheartened laugh. Cole then held up his right hand to the Highlander, allowing her another opportunity to look at the glyph etched onto the back of his hand. In a very cold and indifferent tone he replied to the Highlander. “Then and now are two entirely different things, Kryschenn.
