“Not right now, thanks. I just feel like laying down for a bit.” he said in response to her proffered hand. Nothing about him was severely damaged. The dagger wasn’t inside of his body causing him to bleed. He felt a little sore all over but that would pass soon enough and he would fully recover from the fall. For the moment, the Mentalist was content to lounge about on the forest floor until he felt well enough to stand under his own power. Inside of his boots he wiggled his just to be sure his feet were in working order. He remained silent but attentive as Kryschenn continued on about her desire to turn herself in and the potential benefits it could grant in the others struggle against the Force of Evil as the time of the city’s hand over to Venger neared. Finally, after hearing what she had to say on the subject he responded.

“Do you really turning yourself in would solve anything?” he asked the Berserker. “Sure it may help better our relationship to the Yarfellians but, consider this, what if your sacrifice doesn’t solve anything? They may still be distrustful of us. And since they would have already recaptured you, would they not still see a reason to hunt down your allies? There will still be other ‘Outworlders’ for them to hunt down once you surrender, if they feel they have reason to do it. If you let yourself get taken, there will be one less person out there fighting against Venger’s threat to the city.” Wondering if his words were finding their way into Kryschenn’s considerations he thought of another card to play. “Chances are they could put you to death for the crime you committed in self defense, if that happened, and we somehow found a way back to Earth, how could anyone of us explain your fate to your family back home?”

Still on the floor he arched his back. He wasn’t sure if he heard something pop or not but the pain endured from the fall had considerably subsided. “I still think there’s still a good chance we can stop Venger, save the city, and exonerate all of the Outworlders without the need for throwing your life away,” said the Mentalist as he grinned at the notion of a win-win situation between themselves and the Yarfellians. “What if they see you fighting for their freedom against Venger? If they learn that you were on their side, opposing the greatest threat mounted against the populace so far, don’t you think they could at least cut you a little slack? You did get to tell someone your side of the story, right?” he asked.

“Despite our earlier understanding, Uni informed us that there are still soldiers and some bounty hunters roaming in the town. I found this out when I headed back to retrieve my horse after you took off. I didn’t think I’d be fast enough to catch up to you on foot,” he said glancing over to the steed.
“When you left a lot of the things I was thinking of saying to you were sounding like what you were trying to tell me earlier after you uncovered the mark I was hiding. I guess that makes me a hypocrite, huh? Willing to help others but I’m become argumentative and cold toward the people who are just trying to help me with my problem. I’m sorry if anything I said before hurt you,” he said apologetically. “I’ve sort of realized that there are things that I can't just deal with on my own. I guess I could use a little more help with my problems, if your offer still stands.” He brought the bandaged hand in front of his face and looked at it curiously. Feeling a little better he sat up facing Kryschenn.

“Anyway, I promise to fill you in on the details about this a little later once we’re out of the woods, but I still don’t want this to become public knowledge, okay,” said Cole with an uneasy expression on his face, the bandaged hand resting on his leg. “Venger and the mess in Yarfell should still be our primary concerns. That is what Dungeon Master brought us here to help contend with in the first place,” he reminded Kryschenn. “Everything else can be dealt with when the time comes.” Cole then took a minute to massage the back of his neck. Despite his best effort to coax the pain from his body he still felt plenty of aches here and there along his back. Regardless, he finally stood albeit a bit uncomfortably, and with a little help, finally accepting the hand Kryschenn earlier offered.

“The others will be joining us once we get to the inn at Macula,” he told her. “With the guards still roaming in the city it will probably be a lot harder getting in than I first thought. My group entered incognito disguised by our Illusionist, Glitter. In Sunny’s group, Abigail convinced the troops that they were performers when they reentered the town when the guards first arrived. Before heading off to find you, Kayla suggested you and I try posing as a pair of performers as well. I’m not sure what exactly we could perform but though. What do you think?”
