"And incidentally, Lady Knight," said Chopper turning his attention to Heidi, "You're objective was not to splatter the melons all over the place, but to use even slices to decapitate them as if your were decapitating the head of an opponent--but we can work on that later! Dismount and join us once you've tethered your horse."
Looking back over to Spud, the Drow Warrior said, "Right now, we'll start with the basics." Walking over to some wooden swords, Chopper picked up three of them and handed one to each of his students.
Beginning sardonically, the Drow Warrior said, "This is a sword, it is used for killing people! The sharp end of it is the blade, the end that you are holding is the hilt. Try and get a feel for your weapon, its weight, its strength, and its balance." Chopper began to take his weapon and swing back and forth with it almost rhythmically. "Make the weapon a part of yourself, an extension of yourself, and let it flow in your hand."
Smiling a little, the Drow said, "There are three aspects to swordfighting that must be learned--speed, skill, and strength! Of the three, which is the hardest to obtain?"
