Kimmy quit off glaring at the bossy dragon staute, to regard Abigail with a startled look.
"Huh? Cole can talk to us with telepathy? Cool! That would be even better than walkie-talkies! But ummm," and here a giggle entered Kimmy's voice, "Orbs don't talk, Abby." This seemed to strike her as funny. "At least, the one that Hank was supposed to be lookin' after that I've got safe in my pocket now, doesn't. Not a peep."
She smiled at Abigail and then narrowed her eyes in exasperation again as she turned back to glaring at the dragon statue. "OH, no! But ol' Spot here can talk up a storm. He thinks that just cause he's an all powerful magic user or something that he can just boss... w-what?" She turned her attention back to the statue. "Oh, thaaaaat's right. You can only do magic when you're in your other form. Suuuure. I had Beemer just like that back home that was always "in the shop". Yuh."
Kimmy turned back to Abby and the rest of her friends with a grin and whispered loudly, "He's got an awfully big ego for a little dragon statue. Doncha Spot!" She made the statue give a nod and put it back in her pocket, muttering, "Yeah, yeah. I got it."
Looking up at everyone as though talking to inanimate objects and having them talk back were a normal everyday occurance, she said, "So, just how much farther is it before we get outta here? I'm kinda getting tired of dark caves. Seeing the suns would be a nice change. Or even the moons. Say, what time is it anyway?"
