Isadorra and her daemon had been mostly keeping out of the way and not making any trouble- though Isadorra couldn't resist pocketing a handful of gems from Blaze's hoard, which Adrick had picked out and dropped into her hand once they were on their way again. Surely they wouldn't be missed!The dragon had taken little notice of them, for now. Adrick became a mouse again, riding on Izzy's shoulder watchfully. Izzy was more interested in Kimmy and the stick she'd found, and the dragon statue she kept talking to.
"There's a wizard in there?" she asked Kimmy, peering excitedly at the statuette. "Can I try? Hearing him, I mean? And what's the stick for? Is it a staff piece we're looking for? Is it? This is so neat!" She'd gotten over most of her fright at being alone in the caverns, for now she had lots of companions, light, and the prospect of meeting a Real Live Unicorn! This misadventure was turning out fun indeed!
Adrick suddenly cringed at the sound of claws on stone, not unlike nails on a blackboard, and recalled the bulette they'd battled earlier. He shifted into a big black bird, cawing wildly. "I hear it, I hear it! Something's coming, a monster! Awwraaak! Caaawww!!"
"Calm DOWN, Adrick!" Isadorra said, catching him and giving him a little shake. "It'll certainly hear YOU if you don't shut up....What so you hear?"
"Something's....scratching the rocks....." he said melodramatically, in a hushed croaking voice.
"Well," said Isadorra, showing a lot of insight for a twelve-year-old, "If it's a nasty cave monster then it won't like sunlight. Come on!" And she trotted over to where Glitter stood, looking at the rocks. "WOAH! Oh, no! How are we gonna get down?!" Adrick flew out of her arms and around her head, and she gave him an amused glare. "Shut up."
((And how is it that underground catacombs in Yarfell end up coming out on the top of a pile of rocks, that's what I wanna know....*lol* Well, it's the Realm, after all.....*g*))
