    what the....?

Zak had time to give Rose a "what the HELL......???" look as War Scribe came barreling toward them, before leaping aside at the last moment. She was surprisingly nimble- 600 years of dancing had given her a fair amount of agiliy, and War Scribee, having missed with her book, found herself tumbling into empty air.

"What's this about? Who the hell are you?" Zak demanded, having rolled to a stop a few yards away. She unwrapped the hampering sari and tucked it in her belt, in case this fight wasn't over. "I should tell you your efforts will be pointless- I cannot die!" Well, that wasn't strictly true, but Zak really didn't want to explain it now.

((Zak has never encountered any of the Regulators, right?))

"Not to mention I already encountered Death today, and she'd be pretty annoyed to have to come by here again!" Zak continued eying the drow woman, who had picked up her book and was fiddling with the spine. There was something familiar about her, something Zak couldn't place. The book and quill- what, did this woman fancy herself another Lorekeeper? Perhaps she wished for Zak's job, and thought killing her would do it? Zak looked indignant and started fishing in her own book for some sort of weapon. There was only so much Validor could do for her if someone was really bent on taking her life. He'd sympathize and perhaps knock off a year or two from her sentance for dying (again) in his service before resurrecting her, but he wouldn't stop the killer.

It was times like these Zak wished he wasn't QUITE so neutral...

What WAS it the Drow had against her? Well, she wasn't going to let THIS one do her in, she thought, rage growing in her heart. Once was bad enough! Well, this time she'd fight, and take one of them with her if she could!
