It retreated and faded away into the darkness of the mirror as Hank finally caught up with them.
"This looks like the end of the maze," he commented, glancing further down the tunnel, "but it wasn't
Tommy, was it?" he asked, not expecting an answer, though he did get a one-fingered response from
something lurking in the mirror. Sighing, raking his fingers through his hair, he admitted, "Well, bad news, but you took off so fast
that I didn't have much of a chance to remember the way back." Looking at Fay and Morgana, who
had followed him, he asked, "I don't suppose either of you had the chance to mark the way, did
you?"
"Why yes!" I replied, taking out my labyrinth-esque red lypstick. "I cannily marked the stones in various places while we were running like the clappers trying to chase what we thought was Tommy." Then, woefully, my inner monologue (which was, thankfully still intact as an inner monologue and not affected by an Austin Powers-esque faux pas) ended and reality reasserted itself.
"No," I replied regretfully. "But maybe it would be better to try to find some help before we make an attempt to rescue Tommy. After all, we've been stuck in here for what feels like days, and we're still none the wiser about how to free him."
Battling the urge to run my own hand through Hank's hair, which never seemed to stop falling into his eyes these days, I turned to face Sheila, Bobby and Morgana.
"What do you guys think? I mean, I hate the thought of leaving Tommy in here, but wouldn't it be better to try to find someone who could use their magic to free him? And we are really close to the end of the maze now, if we go back in there, we might not find the exit again for ages."
I looked hopefully at Morgana. "Unless, that it, you managed to memorize the way back, or you can use some of your power to try to free him?"
((Any thoughts guys? what should we do? Hope this is OK-and Tommy, we WILL get you out...somehow, I promise
That's assuming you want to be "got", of course!!
))
