Turning back to the High Councilor of Yarfell, the Swordsman said, "Well, Lord Tolan, your sister does have a point! You've got a lot to do, with preparing your people for war and all! And I still have to wait for supplies before we can get going as well.""The supplies will arrive within the hour," Tolan said, mightily relieved to be thinking about something other than choking his sister. "I assure you, Captain, your men will be supplied by the time we reach the Swan May to deliver little Ingeld home."
Extending his hand in friendship to Lord Tolan, Sterling smiled, "Take care and bring my Lieutenant back to me safe and sound. I need him, and my army wouldn't be the same without him! Which reminds me, I bet you never thought that you would be shaking the hand of Drow Warrior!"
"Quite honestly, no, I'd never thought it would happen in my lifetime," Tolan replied frankly. "I have always had my secret hopes that one day there would be peace with the Drow, but actually seeing it with my own eyes as it begins to become a reality was well beyond what I could have ever dreamed. Of course, if my sister keeps behaving the way she does," he added with a glare at Kirriam, seated primly on her horse, "all our efforts toward peace will come crashing down when half your men decide to strangle her!"
Tolan was the only one who did not see Kirriam stick her tongue out at him.
With a final nod of farewell, Tolan leapt up on his horse, waiting for the Lieutenant and their escort to do the same. When all were mounted up, Tolan gave the signal and they began to ride back out the same way he had entered the camp.
