Rose had caught Zakiyah's book and would keep it safe, though she still had one hand free just in case the fight came her way. It turned out that the fight didn't last very long and ended as both Lorekeeper and Chronicler struck at the same time. Daggers tasted heartblood and never came out.

As both bodies slumped to the ground, the consternation left Rose's face. She shook her head slowly and murmured, "Twice in one day? I think that is a record for even you, old friend." She walked over to their horses and placed Zakiyah's book in her saddle bag. She led the other horse over to the corpses and struggled to place Zakiyah across the saddle after removing the protruding dagger. With a soft apology, she made sure the body was secure and looked down upon the attacker.

Rose wasn't sure if the Drow woman was anything like Zakiyah, but if she was, it would be a mistake to bring the other's body back to Yarfell as well. If they woke up, it was probable that they would only continue their fight and there would be fighting enough without this to distract from more important matters. Rose needed to get Ingeld back to the Swan Mays if the child wasn't on her way already. Perhaps with her safe return, the Swan Mays might aid Yarfell in some way.

Glancing once more upon the dead Drow, Rose saw the Chronicler's book laying nearby. She hesitated a moment, and then retrieved it, placing it with Zakiyah's book. Maybe something could be learned from it that would lend some understanding to the Drow's attack?

Mounting her horse, Rose lead the other and headed back towards Yarfell. She hoped those that they had come to check on in the first place would also make their way back to the city. She hadn't gone far when she came across a group of what appeared to be Yarfellian soldiers riding hard. They reined their mounts in sharply and demanded to know if she had seen a Drow thief ride by. They eyed the still figure on the other horse as they waited impatiently for her answer.

Rose didn't recognize any of these soldiers and didn't know if they would know her as the Storyteller. She answered quickly, "There is a Drow woman laying just past the other side of that grove," Rose replied, pointing out the way. "Whether or not she is your thief is for you to determine. She lies dead... at the moment, and shouldn't give you too much trouble. If you will excuse me, I must be on my way to the city. This is the Lorekeeper," she gestured to Zakiyah, "and she is in need of immediate attention and bed rest. The Princess and Lord Tolan will need to speak with her when she awakens," Rose added, just in case they tried to detain her.

"The best of luck to you, friends." Rose nodded good day and continued on her way back to Yarfell.
