The illusionist responded, "Yes, I agree. Will Blaze be willing to go?" "Sure he will!" Kimmy exclaimed! "All we need is a Scooby Snack. Besides, he's probably all lonely here by his lonesome," she said, gesturing to Blaze with the stick she had picked up.
Sunny frowned as she regarded her friend. "A Scooby snack? What in the world is that?" She paused, then shook her head with a rueful grin. "Perhaps I don't want to know."
"Matthew," she asked of Sunny's admirer "it seems you are our resident expert on Blaze and his situation. Tell me, do you know if the Blaze has a protector on duty?"
Matthew looked up from where he was watching Blaze cavort about him, mouth turning downward into a frown as he considered Abigail's question. "Not that I know of. It is possible that someone was sent here to find Blaze after the Orcs attacked the village, but as chaotic as things have been I had not heard if there had been. My Uncle could have come here on his own perhaps, he is unusually attached to Blaze. That is how Blaze knows me so well, I came here often with my Uncle, although I have never seen this place.
As for the Kenderkin, she is correct. Blaze should have no problem travelling with us, so long as I am with you. Although I have no more idea of what a Scooby Snack is than Lady Sunny, I do not think we will need one."
Matthew crouched down to be eye-level with Blaze. "You would not mind returning with me, would you young man?" The little dragon blinked a moment, cocking his head to one side as he regarded Matthew. He then headbutted the Maculan's shoulder, as if in agreement. Matthew stood with a soft chuckle. "I guess that settles that then."
He headed for the entry to the cavern, Blaze bounding along behind him. Kimmy followed along behind Blaze, imitating the baby dragon by bunny-hopping along behind him. Sunny chuckled, ushering the others out ahead of her. She needed to obscure the marks that Kimmy had made to prevent them from being lost, and she really had no desire to have the others see when she did. They would ask far too many questions.
