"Uh-Huh! Yeah, right!" said Chopper a little uneasily as he shook Heidi's hand. This Dark Elf had a long face and wore his hair in a short, military buzzcut. Like all elves, Chopper looked quite young, however his eyes betrayed the wisdom and experience of the venerable Drow's real age! "Well, if we're going to do this, then let's get started with the basics, follow me." The two walked over to a horse and Chopper began to point out the fundamentals of horsemanship to Heidi, "This is a horse, we use it in riding and in battle. Your horse is your friend, your ally, your lifeline, an extension of yourself and a potential meal--when times are rough and supplies are low. This is a bridle..."
While the Dark Elf Warrior began to explain the function of a horse to Heidi, a few of the Shadow Riders drew near, one of them watching the lesson with great interest.
"Two silver says the Little One gets tossed in two minutes!" said Sticks maliciously.
"Awww, Sticky, you're not still sore just 'cause a little girl kicked the crap out of ya', are ya'?" snickered a Drow to his right.
"Yeah, Sticks, you gotta forgive and forget," prodded another one to his left, "After all, she's only human girl!"
A few of the other Drow Warriors broke out into laughter as Sticks snarled at them saying, "Five silver!?! Take it or leave it!"
"Alright, I'll take that bet!" said the Drow that spoke up first. Spitting into his hand, he shook Sticks' hand firmly sealing their deal.
"Me, too!" added another one jumping in as well. Soon ten others committed themselves to the bet, some in favor and some against Heidi as they waited to see how she would fair when the Lady Knight decided to ride her mount.
