As Cassandra and Night Steel held their conversation, the Young Ones and their recent rescuee did a little talking of their own!"Eric! That was one heck of plan, thanks!" said Presto appreciatively. "Your shield really held them off!"
"Are you kidding me? That was one heck of a magic carpet ride you gave us, Presto!" replied Eric, much relieved to be free of the Rock Creatures' domain! "If it wasn't for you, there would've been no way that we could've reached Cassie and that Wood Elf in time! And speaking of which, how is she doing, Diana?"
The Acrobat checked out Meyaatha who had slipped back into unconsciousness again once the Catacombs group had settled down from their escape! "She's out of it, Eric!" replied Diana with some concern, "I don't know if its from getting blasted in the back by one of those Rock Creatures before or getting strangled by another one or both, but she may be out of it for the duration--at least until we can get her to a doctor! Presto, is there anyting that you can do to help?"
The Wizard said, "Well, I can try!" Reaching into his hat, Presto fished around for a few minutes and then pulled out a U.S. Army stretcher and said, "I'm sorry, Diana, but that's the best I can do at the moment!"
"I understand," replied the Acrobat settling the stretcher next to the Ambassador, "Before we tried our first escape attempt, Meyaatha told me about the path she took to arrive at her negotiations with the Rock Creatures! From the way she described it, her path is going to drop us right into Wood Elf central, the very heart of the Forest of Macul! So what do you say guys, we have a piece of the staff now, will it be the Rock Creatures or the Wood Elves!"
Almost in unison, the Young Ones said, "Wood Elves!"
Turning to Night Steel and Cassandra, Diana asked, "Well, guys, which path shall we take?"
