Quite suddenly Bubbles sat up with an easy motion and her eyes opened as she gasped. Her eyes were glowing a solid vivid purple for a long moment, then they faded back to the normal look of the eye, clear whites and vivid purple irises. She looked through the others as if they weren't there, obviously in another world in her head. "Yes ma'am," she said lowly, sounding unhappy, and she stood up.
She seemed to notice the others then. She blinked and looked at them watching her suspiciously. She cleared her throat self consciously. "I'm sorry," she said a bit unhappily "But I have to go now." And portal of golden flame opened in front of her.
Those standing behind Bubbles could see a fantastically beautiful winged woman with horns and a gracefully tapering tail standing there waiting. She was entirely golden, from her long hair to her skin, and she wore only a golden belt. Her eyes were solid fields of the same purple as Bubbles. Those who looked long and close enough could see that her face was almost a twin of Bubbles own, only more refined and lovely.
She held out her hand to Bubbles. "Come child," she said in a musically chiming voice. Bubbles nodded and stepped through the portal. Before the portal closed, they saw her take the woman's hands and kiss her on the cheeks. "Grandmama," she said softly. And then the portal was gone, and so was Bubbles.
