Re: [Macula] Ready for an attack?

The Gloved Brunette appeared to elude the creature as she walked about the forest wondering where it was lurking. She thought it unlikely that the beast would give up so easily on his intended quarry. Out of nowhere a horse ran in front of the Fighter giving her pause for a moment. ‘Its not Dowitcher, but it wasn’t the owlbear either’ she thought. Suddenly the owlbear revealed itself behind a tree a few yards away as it raced after the passing horse. Abigail saw a thick branch and with a swift motion severed the limb. The snap of the tree did not distract the creature from its chase but branch Abigail hurled at the beast got its attention after striking the owlbear’s backside. The escaping horse was now safe as the beast turned, growling at woman who hurt its rear. “Well, now that I have your attention…” she grinned at the charging beast.

Despite her bravado, Abigail speedily dodged as her opponent stood and furiously raked the trunk of the tree behind her with its claws, scarring the tree with slash marks made deep into the bark-covered exterior. The owlbear became more irate as Abby seemed to disappear when the creature spied the area around the wounded tree for its prey. Resuming its four-legged stance and relying now on its sense of smell, the juvenile became aware that she was now at the side the beast without arousing its attention earlier. Yet, before the creature could turn to face her, Abigail already set into motion her offensive. With both fists forward, she slammed into the juvenile using just enough force to knock it from its footing and sending the creature to roll on its back.

Recovering from the surprise attack by its smaller quarry, the juvenile owlbear righted itself, facing her again. The creature stood on its back legs hoping to intimidate her by letting loose a roar. Abigail found to be nowhere near as impressive as that of its parent. The frustrated creature charged her again with its razor sharp beak wide open and prepared to rend her flesh to pieces.
