"Does anyone have some rope?", Psilo asked. "It might be a good idea to tie up the other two I knocked out with my magic...""You might want to check with Ashleyien about that," said Sterling in answer to Psilo's query. "I think she might have some rope that you can use."
Psilo looked around at the dead bullywogs. "Are you always so brutal to your foes?" Psilo questioned Sterling. "You know there are always alternatives to killing. You may have just murdered someone's father or mother."
Sterling turned and gave Psilo an incredulous look. Before the Dark Elf said anything that he believed he would live to regret, Sterling paused to think about what Psilo said and then calmly replied, "I am only this brutal to my foes when they are trying to kill me; and I did not murder anyone, I was only defending myself and everyone else in this group!"
Looking around at the Bullywugs and his friends, the Drow Swordsman said, "Believe it or not, I'm not the blood-thirsty psychopath that you may think I am! I'm a soldier, not a butcher! I showed our enemies a considerable amount of restraint. If I wanted to, we could've taken advantage of the element of surprise and attacked the Bullywugs at the first marker, but we didnt! If I wanted to, we could've slaughtered them all instead of letting the survivor's escape, but we didn't!"
Staring directly into Psilo's eyes, the Swordsman said, "Contrary to popular belief, Psilo, I take no joy in killing! I simply do what I do because it has to be done! If you have a better idea, by all means let me know! I'm not opposed to trying to avoid a conflict. Besides I didn't start this fight, but I thank God for the fact that we were up to the task of finishing it!"
"What..? Don't look at me like that. Those creatures had a right to life as we do", Spilo said solemnly. "What a waste..."
"You're right, Psilo," admitted Sterling showing some considerable remorse, "The Bullywugs do have a right to live as much as any of us here! And if they would've left us alone, none of this would have happened!"
Taking his sword and cleaning it off on the sole of his boot, the Dark Elf asked, "But let me ask you a question, Psilo. If War Scribe is right, what are you going to do when the Swamp creates an evil version of yourself and sends it out to kill you? Believe me when I say, that the Regulators we fought prior to your arrival can't be bargained with, they can't be reasoned with, and they don't know any remorse or pity or fear and they absolutely will not stop--EVER! UNTIL YOU ARE DEAD!"
Calming down a little, Sterling asked, "So when that fateful moment comes Psilo, what are you going to do?"
A Point To Ponder
((OOC: Forgive me for borrowing a line from The Terminator everybody, it seemed to be too appropriate for this situation to easily pass up! Ha! Ha! Ha!))
