After everyone had awakened and gotten relaxed, Sterling stood before his friends and gave the Swamp Team a mission de-briefing on Operation Lorekeeper.“I know you guys are tired and some of you may be hurting, but I’ve got some great news for you that’s going to make all of that pain go away. In all of the excitement with The Regulators, I nearly forgot to tell you guys about everything that transpired on my end of the portal.” began the Drow Swordsman.
“First, I want to say that Operation Lorekeeper was a complete and stunning success--far beyond anything that we could’ve ever imagined!” And with that the Dark Elf relayed everything that occured from the moment Thothalas’ portal closed to the moment the Dark Elf re-arrived in the Swamp! The Swordsman told them about the emasculation of Venger; the rescue of Zakiyah and Tommy; the encounter with Bubbles, Kimmy, and EO; the escape from Venger’s crumbling fortress; the reason why the Drow had to make a trip to Yarfell, the arrest of the Outworlders there, and their subsequent escape from the dungeons.
The Dark Elf paused to let all of the previous night’s events sink in as he looked at his slightly beleagured friends. Continuing, the Swordsman said, “And now I’m back in the Swamp with you guys; after our knockdown, drag out fight with The Regulators!” It was at that point that the Drow relayed his dream to the assembled group describing what had transpired there: His ballroom dance with the dream version of Diana; Lady Mab’s intervention and the deal the Dark Elf cut with the Dream Fairy; Spud, Heidi, and Ashleyien’s arrival in the Realm of Dreams; and the mysterious boon that he had secured from Lord Morpheus of the Endless.
Finally, Sterling said, “Which brings me back to the present! Zakiyah and Tommy wanted me to give you their eternal thanks and gratitude for rescuing them! They greatly appreciate it! Zakiyah has the charm that you and Alexia made for her, Thothalas, and she thanks both of you from the bottom of her heart!
Choking up a little, the Drow Swordsman said, “And I also want to thank you guys for the sacrifices you made to pull off Operation Lorekeeper! It was crazy! And it was insane! But you guys sold out to make it happen! You really did! And I can’t thank you enough or praise you enough for a job well done!”
