"Whoa! Waitaminute!" cried Sterling interjecting himself into the dialogue between Taraine and Psilorabbit. "Take it easy, guys! We're all friends here, right!?!"Looking at their newest arrival, the Dark Elf said, "There is no need to look down on anyone." Turning his attention to Taraine, the Swordsman added, "And there is no need for name calling either!"
Watching both of them, Sterling said, "We are all in this together! And believe me when I say, that we have got to WORK together just to survive this Swamp--let alone to complete our mission. Which brings me to the reason why we're here, Psilorabbit."
The Swordsman took a deep breath and began, "Two days ago, my friends and I--along with several others--were brought to the Realm by Dungeonmaster and charged with a mission to save a kingdom called Yarfell, find the pieces of a magical staff, and rescue a Wizard named Gareth. We broke up into two teams to accomplish this goal."
Continuing the Drow said, "Our part of the overall mission entails finding a single piece of the magic staff and freeing the imprisoned wizard Gareth. You see, all of this was once a beautiful forest called Blossom. Until Venger--the resident Force of Evil in the Realm--came, cursed this place, and imprisoned the guardian of this forest, Gareth, inside the center of the Swamp."
Thinking over what they had gone through up until this point, the Dark Elf added, "Most of us here have spent the last two days running, fighting, bleeding, and nearly dying in our attempt to reach the Swamp's center. We have faced numerous obstacles ranging from giant bats and trolls to giant snakes and psychotic Drow--no offense War Scribe." The Dark Elf Chronicler only gave the Drow Swordsman an angry glare.
"But the worst and most persistent threat that we have faced up until now has come from a scheming, megalomaniacal, bottom-feeding, child-killing, back-stabbing trollop of a Swamp witch named Tuculcha!" said Sterling with venom in his voice. "She is our number one threat at the moment, and she will stop at nothing to kill us--ALL OF US! The Swamp Witch is capable of striking at us anywhere and at anytime! She takes no quarter and asks for none! And it's been by the grace of God alone, that we have lasted this long against her sinister attacks!"
Concluding his thoughts, the Swordsman said, "And that's the reason why we are here, Psilorabbit! That's why we have to set aside our differences and work together. Simply put, we're not just trying to complete our mission--we are fighting for our very lives!!!"
