    [Dungeon/Catacombs] We're on our way!

Posted by Tommy Tanaka on 1/15/2001, 12:26 am

((OOC: Moving this up to the top. Maybe we can shake a leg here?))

Opening the door EO slipped inside, closing it quickly behind her. Looking down the hallway she saw a row of heavy wooden doors to either side of her--some standing open--and to her immense relief her friends gathered outside the cells.

"Guys, we have a problem!" she called out as she strode quickly down the corridor towards them. "There's a fight going on outside, from what a page told me, that sounds like it might get out of hand. He said that some old guy was stirring up trouble, and from the sound of things the ranting had to do with us! Outworlders, I mean.

Lord Tolan went to deal with it, but I think we need to get out of here now!"

Tommy dropped his head into his hands for a moment before looking up at the ceiling with a "why me Gods?" expression. "If this were a movie we'd be moving into the last half-hour. Okay everyone, let's double-time it.

Presto, can you manage a ladder out of your hat?"

"Umm, Tommy?" Hank began, "Presto isn't here. Are you feeling okay?"

Tommy looked back at Hank and blinked. "Sure. I knew that. I was just testing you." He looked at Bubbles. "Do you think he believed that?" She shook her head slowly. "Neither do I." He turned back to Hank. "Okay, so I was a little distracted - I've been under a bit of stress recently, okay?"

Hank saw something in Tommy's eyes - he wasn't sure exactly what - but he didn't feel like pressing it right now. "I can make a ladder with my Bow, you know."
    "Really?"
    "Really."
    "Good."
    "Good."
    "Fine."
    "Fine."
"So are you going to do it? Or do I have to ask you? Oh please, mighty Ranger, please make a ladder for us so we can get a bloody move on!"

Hank bit back a retort. Tommy was obviously not at his best and a further contest of words wouldn't solve anything. Wordlessly, he made the rope.
