The vague din of battle being waged floated down through the fog of Dan's mind as he slowly swam up through the inky blackness of his unconcious. In fact, he thought he heard Sterling's voice shouting in drow. More Fireballs, screaming, ringing steel. How am I still alive, he thought to himself as his eyes fluttered open. The Adventurer could barely see through the smoke and the haze, but he did see someone who looked alot like Sterling dancing and spinning across the battleground. And then he saw Thothalas, smoking and lying next to a furry white and red blood. Dan could only assume it was a very bloody Cadbury. The knight and the wierd guy were doing rather well against their opponents, better than he had thought they would. Dawn was there. Where was Ashley? Alexia?
The Adventurer started to crawl through the muck towards Thothalas, slowly picking his way across the battleground. About halfway across the cratered clearing, the pain in his shoulder and the burns across his body erupted in pain. He'd forgotten about those for a few moments. It just seemed to make the journey seem even further.
Eventually, he made it over the fallen mage and his bunny companion. Unsure of exactly what he could or should do, the Adventurer mustered enough to strength to carefully push the bunny closer to his master. Dan, then, removed his whip (which had somehow reappeared on his belt) and crouched near the fallen mage in a futile attempt to defend his fallen comrade from any of the rogue drow.
