Re: A Battle of Dueling Blades ((Swamp))

Posted by Kinslayer and Sterling Coleman on 12/18/2000, 6:38 pm , in reply to "A Battle of Dueling Blades ((Swamp))"

Recovering his footing, Kinslayer smiled viciously at his counterpart saying, "Well, my brave and noble brother has returned to the Swamp to finish our little game! However, I have to warn you, that in your absence, we've progressed to my favorite part of the game: SUDDEN DEATH!!!"

"Speaking of which, if you keep talking like that Kinslayer, you're going to be talking yourself to death!" mentioned Sterling menacingly as he awaited his counterpart's attack.

"We'll see dear brother, we'll see! YEEEARRRRGHHHH!!!" And with that the Drow Swordsmaster charged at the Drow Swordsman in a deadly dance of blood, sweat, and glistening steel.

For what seemed an eternity the two Dark Elves fought with the grace of wild gazelles and the passion of hungry tigers! Anyone witnessing the duel couldn't help but be moved to tears at the poetry of motion displayed by the two Swordsmen. As steel rang out against steel, attacks were deflected by blocks, and parries were made and beaten; all Hell seemed to break loose around the two Drow as trees fell, magic crackled, and companions dropped in battle. It all seemed to be so distant, so far away to the two Dark Elves who were engaged in their deadly ballet--until...

The Dark Elves locked swords as each tried to gain the upper hand on the other. Coming eye ball to eye ball, Kinslayer spat, "Today is a good day for you to die, dear brother!"

"You first!" Was Sterling's only reply as he gave his opposite a head butt that sent him reeling. As Kinslayer fell back, the Swordsman charged at him ready to finish him off. Suddenly, the Drow Swordsmaster slipped from a concealed sheath a small dagger near his belt and as his opponent came upon him, slashed at Sterling's midsection, leaving a deep wound behind. The only thing that kept the cut from being much worse was that the the Dark Elf's armor had afforded him some measure of protection.

Screaming out in pain as he nearly doubled over, the Swordsman proceeded to back up, as Kinslayer smiled at him saying, "OOOooo! Did that hurt, my brother? It looked like it did! Now all you have to do is give me your sword, hold still and taste the power of my Dragon Sword!"

"If you insist!" hissed the Swordsman bravely. Taking Evenflow in his hands, the Dark Elf tossed his blade to Kinslayer. The Drow Swordsmaster was so surprised by the action, that he instantly reacted by dropping his Dragon Sword and catching Evenflow with his sword hand. Taking the last of strength and screaming out in pain as he moved, the Dark Elf sprang to secure the Dragon Sword! Grabbing the weapon by its hilt, Sterling spun around and drove the blade into Kinslayer's stomach!

For the longest time the pain didn't register until Kinslayer looked down and saw that his own Dragon Sword was buried almost to its hilt in his gut! Then he screamed a near unearthly howl as the magical energy of the blade fed on the life force of its former owner, sucking into itself the very soul of Kinslayer!

Once it was finished draining the Dark Elf of his soul, it immediately immolated the flesh of Kinslayer's body with a hot magical fire that consumed every inch of the Drow Swordsmaster. The fire was so great that it forced Sterling to let go of the blade and back away. However, when the fire died down, only a skeleton of Kinslayer remained sprawled out on the ground.

The survivor of this battle said nothing and did nothing as he witnessed the power of the Dragon Sword. Afterwards, the Swordsman just looked at the bones, the sword, and the fate that could have befallen him had he failed to dispatch his nemesis.

    A Point To Ponder
