The elven mage made a strange and terrible apparition as he stood up in the dimness of the swamp with his left arm still ablaze. A brighter fire burned in his ice blue eyes as he struggled to breath."Put the bunny down," he growled in a voice his friends would not have recognized as his own.
Mindflayer continued to laugh especially at the spectacle of fire before him. With a subtle twist of his hand, the dark elf started to bring his dark powers into play on the living matchstick. His brows furrowed suddenly; his magic seemed... stuck. Cadbury continued to scream but her little face was set hard in concentration. The little fleatrap wouldn't let go of his energy. He felt all his spells melting away. The dark mage drew his dagger with lighting speed and stabbed at the struggling bunny.
"No!" cried Thothalas, and his word became a unearthly howl.
An invisible force rippled and tore at the air between the light and dark elves. For an instant, nothing happened then Mindflayer's smile twisted into a scream as his head detonated from within.
Cadbury dropped from the lifeless hand and curled into a twitching ball on the leaf-covered ground. She reached a trembling paw toward the still form of Thothalas with his left side still smouldering.
Thothalas
