The Adventurer groaned as the odd knight helped him to his feet. The fact they were still alive was strange. His questions were answered as Kinslayer began yelling about something.
"We won't make it with me in tow," the Adventurer told his rescuers, wincing with every angonizing step. They hadn't taken more than three steps when he heard drow chanting. If Thoth doesn't get here soon, that wizard is going to be the death of me, Dan thought.
It was as if the drow wizard was reading his mind, because a familiar sound rose in the air behind them. "Duck...Fireb..." was all he could get out as the force of the blast threw him several feet into the air. The Adventurer landed with a sickening crunch and a cry of pain. The tall adventurer is a stout man and hard to injure, but this last bit was more than enough to send him into unconciousness. The whip, not held by Dan's concentration loosed around the drow female's neck and dropped her to the ground. The leather cord promptly disappeared from the tree leaving a coughing, spluttering, drow very confused.
