But his question snapped her from her concentration and her geas compelled her to answer. "I am Dungeonmaster's Lorekeeper, a cleric of truth and history, and my book is my soul, my life, my breath,' she said quickly. "Yes, it's important. VEnger took it from me when he imprisoned me, AND my quill. May I have them back?"
She tries to hold herself with dignity dispite all the leers from the guards. "T'was my portal dropped the brave Outworlders in the throne room....had I realized what the consequences would be, I'd have changed the link...but the cambion stole my quill, you see, so we had no choice. We had to leave there before Venger returned..."
Something familiar about his face strikes her finally, and she blinks to make sure, smiling suddenly in recognition. "Tolan, isn't it? I've recorded your deeds as well, though that was nigh on 15 years ago that you rode with the pupils of Dungeonmaster..."
