    ((Yarfell)) ME? Under arrest?! Hey!

Posted by Zakiyah on 12/5/2000, 11:07 am

((Did Zak ever meet Lord Tolan...? now I can't remember!))
    --------------
"Tommy?! You're alive!" Zak couldn't belive it, and wondered again just what his particular talent was, as a Gamer- healing? or perhaps he simply had many lives, like a video game character? That thought, along with her relief, made her laugh merrily. "Hurry! We're going back to Yarfell before Venger can regenerate!" She motioned him through the portal anxiously. "Bubbles will be happy to see you, she nearly attacked Sterling when you disappeared...."

Once everyone was through, Zak hopped through herself, grabbing the portal behind her as she went. Once she landed in Yarfell, she opened her book and slid the page back into it. It glowed faintly as it healed itself.

She turned to those in the throneroom, expecting to see the crowd of people who'd just jumped through. Instead, guards siezed her arms and her book. Guards were also converging on Night Steel and Tommy, the last folks through the portal.

"Unhand me!" she shouted, annoyed. "Where is ...?"

"All Outworlders are to be imprisoned," said a guard, looking at her muddy, shredded clothes and long tangled hair with curiousity.

"What? Since when? And I'm NOT an Outworlder, I happen to be the Lorekeeper of the Realm!" she added imperiously.

The guards looked a little suspicious- those who weren't laughing at her outright, that is. "And I'm Dungeonmaster, and this is Uni," one said. "We've seen Little Miss Fine and Fancy Historian, you know, and you ain't her."

"Give me back my BOOK!" she tried ordering again, glaring at the one who was pawing through its pages curiously. As he couldn't read common, let alone latin, it all looked like inane scribbling to him. A blush creeped across her face as she struggled, both from her wretched appearance and from the intimate feeling of someone holding her enchanted tome.

"Toss her in with the others," the fellow with the book said, handing it to the men who had gathered the other magic weapons.

"No!! I just got it BACK!" she protested. "Please, listen!"

But her struggles were not doing anything other than making the soldiers leer at her, so she submitted meekly enough to being dragged down the stairs. At one point, she thought she saw Adelaine with Ingeld down a hall, but didn't have a chance to call to her.

Lord Tolan had just finished interviewing the latest prisoner when he saw Zakiyah, a bemused "they just keep coming" look on his face. "And who are you...?" he asked her.

"Zakiyah," she answered immediately. "And I need my book back!"
