"You would call it Ma'at," replied DM. This brought a new set of mental associations forward in Tommy's mind. He nodded. "And that tells me what my Gift is. Thank you. It also suggests that something remarkably bad has happened to me. I do hope someone is doing something about that. I'm somewhat limited in what I can do in the World in this state." "Certain things must happen before you can safely return. In fact, one of them is happening even as we speak!"

Tommy glanced at DM. "You're getting that 'say something arcane and then vanish before anyone can ask for clarification' look. You don't really need to do that here, do you?" "No, not really. But remember, Gamer, everything happens for a reason." "Thanks a lot. I need a lesson in causality like I need a - never mind, you aren't even here to hear the punch line." What was it Bubbles called him? Oh yes, 'that vile little gnome.' Interesting that he seemed to be modeled off of the same pattern as the diminutive Buddhist and Shinto priests of assorted anime? Some of them turned out to be agents of the Forces of Darkness, didn't they? Interesting thought. What would the natural corollaries of that be?

He drifted off thinking about this?
