"You're proving to be an interesting adversary...You've caused me to make two mistakes, thus far." The drow smiled at him and then became serious, "I won't make another." Mankiller brought is left arm up and said something in drow. Suddenly the whip crumpled to the ground and the drow was gone. "You aren't the only one with magical weapons, human," said an unmistakeable voice.Great, he's invisible now, Dan thought as his vision started to clear and his arms and legs ceased shaking.
Suddenly the Adventurer saw a ball of fiery light arc its way towards him from the direction Mankiller had disappeared. Slamming into the earth just in front of him, the force of the exploding fireball sent Dan flying backwards as the caster of the deadly spell emerged from behind a tree and smiled at his handiwork.
"What the hell did you do that for?!" yelled Mankiller reappearing at the side of his comrade, Mind Flayer. Recovering his feet and trying to dust himself off, Mankiller protested, "You almost dropped that thing in my lap! Besides, I almost had him--"
"You had nothing!" snapped the Drow Mage defiantly, "We do not have time for you to sit around and play games with your opponent! Either make the kill or let a professional do it!"
"Fine! Make the kill then!" retorted Mankiller angrily, "That is, if you can find him!"
"Huh?" Looking around, the Dark Elven Mage no longer saw the Adventurer. "Hey, where did he go?!"
